HOUSTON, March 17,2003 -  Excargo Services Inc. won first place in the National Fleet Safety Award Program for Division I.  This safety award, sponsored by the Truckload Carriers Association, honors the trucking companies who drove 5 million miles or less safely in 2002.  TCA said, “You can be counted as one of the safest truckload fleets in North America.”

The coveted award was presented to Excargo President Marcia Faschingbauer at TCA’s annual conference March 11 in Orlando.  Carriers were first judged on their accident frequency ratio.  Qualifying carriers were then invited to participate in the second phase,  completing an exhaustive 17 page application detailing every aspect of a company’s safety: policies, programs, and statistics.  Independent auditors did a site investigation and verified the data.  Faschingbauer said, “I am so proud.  This is the most important award we have ever received in the company’s history, validating years of company-wide safety consciousness and safe performance.”

This award is especially difficult to win because it requires excellence in so many different categories: training, supervision, accidents, equipment maintenance, driver selection, executive safety involvement and continuous safe performance.

Based in Houston, Texas, Excargo Services is a regional truckload carrier specializing in intermodal transport to the service-sensitive customer since 1979.  Excargo’s premise is excellent service through safety, technology and customer focus.

TCA provides advocacy, education and leadership to enhance the truckload industry’s ability to provide safe, reliable, quality transportation.  TCA members represent some of the largest and most respected motor carriers in North America.
