If you have not already heard, Dick Bagley, a long time member and Former President of the Oil and Gaswell Traffic Association died Friday after an extended battle with cancer. Dick was the Traffic Manager at Baker Oil Tools on Navigation. After he left them he went to Eastway Delivery Svc. He will be missed by many old friends in our industry. A copy of the obituary with details follows. Obituary Richard G. (Dick) Bagley, 62, died Friday, 14 November 2008 after a valiant battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was a devout Christian, Eagle Scout, graduate of U of H, musician, soul surfer, active in charities, and was a past president of the Kingwood chapter of the Kiwanis Club. He had not one enemy and no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet. Survived by wife, Diana; mother, Anne; brother Jim; daughters, Lisa and Kelly; step-children, Alexandria and Frank, and seven grandchildren. Free at last, he will be sorely missed. Visitation with the family will be at at Kingwood Funeral Home from 5:00 - 8:00 Monday, Nov. 17, 2008. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at noon at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM, Christ the King Lutheran Church, 3803 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood. TCH life member Raymond T. Lyons, died on Sunday. He was a member of the Transportation club for many years. He retired from GE quite some time ago but was still active until a few years ago. He was 94 years old. He had a group of other older members that he bowled with until the last three or four years. His passing is a great loss to his family and friends. Jeffrey Dale Crawford "Jeff", age 41, entered into eternal rest
February 3, 2008 after a brief illness and complications from diabetes.
Jeff is preceded in death by his older brother Alan, and is survived by
his son Derek; parents: Dale and Wanda Crawford; brothers: Gary Crawford
and wife Susan, and Richard Crawford; nephews: Eric Crawford, Steven
Crawford; nieces: Lori Crawford, Jeannette Crawford; and many special
relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00
p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North
Freeway Houston, Texas 77060. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Earthman Resthaven Chapel with pastors
Gib Allen and John Brassel, Jr. of the Cornerstone Baptist Church
officiating. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Clinton, Sean Savin, Tommy Ausbern, Omar

Katherine (Tina) Galfas passed away June 13, 2007 at the age of 92. Tina and Past President Count Galfas were married 69 years before his death in April 2007. Guy Graves - On Sunday the May 6, 2007, Guy Graves passed away. Guy was the long time president of General Stevedores and a loyal TCH member since 1946. Guy was a cornerstone to the transportation industry in Houston and will be missed by many, many old friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday the 11th of May 2007, at St Luke’s United Methodist Church 3471 Westheimer. Vernon Scherer, passed away on Sunday morning, April 29th, 2007. He fought a hard battle with cancer but succumbed to that illness on Sunday morning. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, May 2nd, between 6 pm-8 pm, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway (Cross Street: North Eldridge Parkway). The memorial service will be on Thursday evening May 3rd at 6:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Ave. at 6:30 pm. CONSTANTINE G. GALFAS, 92 of Rockdale and formerly of Houston, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 in a College Station Medical center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jan Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bushdale Cemetery near Rockdale. Family visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Galfas, a retired district salesman for Seaboard Systems for 42 years, was born March 27, 1915 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to George and Eugenia (Basil) Galfas. He married Katherine Sellars. A brother, Chris Galfas and a sister, Louise Edwards, preceded him in death. Survivors include: Wife, Katherine Galfas of Rockdale; Daughters, Eugenia Burke & husband Howard of Clarksville, GA, Cindy Wenzel & husband Wilbert Lee of Rockdale; Brother, Timothy Galfas of California; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. |

Bill Blankenship TCH life member and retired President of Walton Transportation, Bill Blankenship, passed away Tuesday evening February 6, 2007. Jim Manzolillo passed away yesterday morning, January 22, 2007. Jim was known to most of us in Houston as the founder and CEO of the Houston Maritime Museum. He was not a young man but had more drive and energy in him than most 30 year olds. He quickly became well known and liked by mariners of all types. Details of arrangements are not known at this time. The family’s wishes are not known at this time but I know Jim would have appreciated any donation made to the Houston Maritime Museum, 2204 Dorrington, Houston Texas 77030. Mary Azzalie Griffis Patout has passed away. In addition to being the mother of our own Father Rivers Patout, she was very active in community service throughout her long life, having been named Citizen of the Year in 1995 by the Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and was honored for over 5,000 hours of service with Grimes-St. Joseph Health Center. She is survived by a large extended family. We extend our condolences to Father Patout and her relatives and friends. Barney B Cardwell After a long fight with cancer I regret to advise that TCH past president Barney B Cardwell passed away June 17, 2006. He died peacefully at home with his family. Barney was a great person and friend to many and will be missed by all. Malory MacDonald Malory MacDonald, Vice President, Coastal Transport/Houston passed away this past weekend. Malory has been a TCH Member since 1973. Malory was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jean; daughter, Katherine Danheim of Houston, Camilla McDonald of Austin, Lisbeth Ash and husband Robin of Dothan, AL; and grandchildren, Evan and Elliott. Bob McFall It is with very heavy heart I must report that Bob McFall passed away late Friday or early Saturday. Bob was retired from Chevron and served as president of The Transportation Club of Houston in 1984-1985. Bob was an avid TCH supporter even in his retirement. Visitation is Monday, May 15, 2006 from 6 pm to 7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 6622 Haskell (near Memorial Park) scheduled for Wednesday 5/17 at 1 pm.
