Join TCH in celebrating National Transportation Week on Tuesday, May 13 from 6 to 8 pm, at the fascinating 1940 Hobby Airport Tower. This come-and-go event is a great way to be see transportation history with your friends. Look at exhibits, view films, and step out on the back porch for an 'up close and personal' view of today's Hobby Airport runways with planes on the move! The 1940 Air Terminal is one of the last and most beautiful art deco air terminals left in the USA. Guests will be able to wander through our Airline Galleries, Hall of Flight, and Starliner Theater, which feature original aviation art, stunning period photographs, outstanding scale aircraft models, artifacts, uniforms, memorabilia and documents of: Trans-Texas Airways, Texas International, Continental Airlines, Pan American, Eastern, Braniff, Chicago & Southern, Pioneer, Essair, Delta, American Airlines, TWA, Southwest Airlines, General Aviation, Howard Hughes, and Houston Cessna dealer King Cruse. Also, the history of plastic model airplanes and box art. There is a viewing area from which guests will be able to see the constant stream of airplanes lifting off and landing at Hobby Airport. Some of the take-off's create a picture perfect scene when they come right over the museum. Chick-fil-A will be catered in for hors dourves, and bottled water and canned coke, diet coke, sprite, ginger ale, root beer, and lemonade are available for $.50. Buy a chance to win a chance!
